The Gospels – The Gospel According to John
Spiritual gangway men
John 10:1-5 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
This is the description of spiritual gangway men who hijack many souls on their way to the Luminous Heights. People that are perhaps not sufficiently alert enough with their spirits will be misled by the teachings of these highway men who work for the darkness. They are the ones who come in through the back door and lurk in the dark because they cannot face the Light of Truth and will never agree to an objective examination of their teachings. They shroud whatever they teach in some form of mystery whereby only the initiated are admitted.
The real shepherd, however, has all knowledge because of His connection to God. He has nothing to fear and as such declares His Teachings openly. He addresses all human beings and His desire is that human beings approach His Words with open unbiased minds as that is the only way that they can help themselves.
Those who keep their intuitions open will hear this Voice of the true Shepherd. It will be a familiar sound to them because the Words of the Shepherd are natural and are from God and just because every human being bears within himself the recognition of God, His Words will sound familiar. They will follow this Shepherd, those whose spirits are open. Not so however for those who in the meantime have chosen to have another master. The Voice of the Redeemer will not be their master’s voice and they will not follow Him. In fact like ravenous wolves they will seek to attack Him. These people will only listen to the voice of their master who is Lucifer.
Those however who belong to the Lord or the true Shepherd need not fear the spiritual highway men. Their open intuitions will never allow them to fall in to the hands of such. Theirs will be unfamiliar voices to them. They are spiritually alert enough to wave off such people. Therein lies their protection.
Everyone else will fall victim to these highway men and will follow them since they are simply following a voice that they are familiar with, that of the darkness. They wished for nothing else. The misplaced fear that people have today for the so-called false prophets are not justified. It is all a question of opening one’s spirit and it will be easy to recognize which teachings are true and which are not.
In the final analysis, this time we must look for the right new Teaching that Jesus promised us and it is our duty to go out there and investigate. At the same time we must not say that we have it all in the Bible and that we need nothing else. Those who say this have not read their Bibles at all. They are lazy servants who face the too late. Jesus Himself promised the new Teaching through the Spirit of Truth and they would contradict Jesus because of their unwillingness to make the personal effort towards their salvation. The great words “Albeit when the spirit of Truth will come and He will teach you all things” will rise up before them in the last days and they will be forced to mourn the loss of so much time.
John 10:11-13 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (12) He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. (13) He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep.
With the analogy of the good shepherd, Jesus has declared here that if need be He was willing to lay down His Life for the preservation of His Word among mankind so that we might continue to have It for our spiritual progress. He was willing to do what it took. This is not to say that He was destined to die and that His death will carry away anyone’s sins but that if it came to it He was ready to defend His Word and Its preservation on earth so that those who believe might continue to have It. He was ready to face the darkness head on even if it meant the destruction of His physical body.
Spiritual highway men and false teachers do not care about the preservation for their word or the human spirits they preach to. They only want the temporary earthly gain. They will never risk their lives as they have no one else’s interest at heart.
John 10:14-18 I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, (15) as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. (16) And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd. (17) For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. (18) No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again; this charge I have received from my Father.”
Again Jesus emphasized that He was prepared out of His Own volition to lay down His Life for the preservation of His Word. He was not going to allow those who can only kill the physical body to stand in the way of redemption for mankind. That is the sacrifice that He was prepared to make. His Love for mankind allowed Him to make this greatest of Sacrifices.
