The Gospels – The Gospel According to John
We have just examined the Words of Jesus as recorded through the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. The Gospels of Saints Mark and Luke were more or less similar except in some minor details. The Gospel of John, however, is very different. It is sometimes felt to represent the developed theological concepts of the first century. It is certainly the most spiritual of the gospels. In examining this gospel certain concepts which had not been clear will become so and at the same time it will be easier for us to understand so many of what Jesus said and what He really meant. There are issues which are peculiar to John and are not to be found elsewhere.
